Welcome to the beach...

This is where all the detritus we surf through gets washed up.

Some things I like

Yep, it's just a links list in a distinctly feeble disguise -
I've not really done many though.
In a vain attempt to separate business from pleasure I've moved a couple of things here that used to be on the front page.  No one get grumpy, you've not been relegated or anything.

Some things I've drawn

Some people I like

Frank, Kath and Kaine Birtwistle -
Fantastic people! Check out Frank's old band Fast Ugly Nation at Peoplesound.

Helen Bridges -
A wife of mine. Here's the start of her HTML experiment.

Ken Campbell -
Theatrical genius type thing.
Go here for a kind of fannish page (currently just a few piccies, a bit of Ken in performance, me being alarmingly boring about Ken's TV work, and some nice links).

Ian and Kerrie Clifford -
A couple of darlings who founded Project COSMIC, an amazing Community Centre Net Cafe Web Design Youth Facility Good Thing in East Devon.
They aren't as dull as this might make them sound, honest. They have a daughter called Robyn and a son called Calvin and will probably have to start masquerading as responsible adults soon.  Check out Ian's website, here.

Simon Kent and Polly Rose, Arlo and Orlando-
My bestest friend and his bestest friend (who is also okay) their son (who I've not seen moving yet but sounds divine) and Polly's bestest friend (who is a cat).
Annoyingly, their website has recently vanished.
Simon is a journalist, writer, performer and musician and had lots of pages on their site about those things.
Orlando, having time on his paws, had produced a page of cat related trivia.
Polly, who has a proper job, had no page of her own. I think there's a message there.
I'm still hoping the thing will sprout up again somewhere new, some time.

Matt Kimpton -
Well, I think I like him. We've met four times now, but neither of us is totally convinced it was real. We now only correspond by e-mail. We used to not talk about Doctor Who a lot on the now moribund Doctor Who discussion list doodah: Dr Who-L.
Matt and I now don't talk about Doctor Who even more, privately. He is a playwright type thing too, but seems to have gone a bit quiet about this recently.
You used to be able to visit his site (largey devoid of theatrical bragging) here? Be warned though, it is both of a worryingly Gallifreyan bent and not even a bit there at the mo..

Mark Michalowski -
Crashing dramatically in towards the back end of the alphabet is the surprisingly well preserved Mr. Michalowski, who, at the tender age of 37 finally became vain and shallow enough to need a personal website. Well done, Mark!
Go
look if you must. Mark is also a fan of Doctor Who but, unlike Matt, is trying fairly hard to act like he has a life beyond it. His favourite girl's name is Justine.

Entertainment Sites I Suppose You'd Call Them

Elan - Alistair McGown's excellent Avengers site. Vainly, I've linked you to the bit I appeared on in 1999.

Frasier Online - A UK based website for possibly the most consistently great sitcom ever.

June Hudson.com - The website for one of the BBC's most fabulous costume designers, you expect you know the Doctor Who bits  don't you?   Fine, check out the Shakespeare and Perrin stuff.  Less vainly, I've not linked you to my appearance on this site.

I, Rearrangement Servant - The Internet Anagram Server, mindless, swear word free, fun.

SHOWstudio - Creative work from the fields of fashion, design, music and the visual arts. Trop belle pour moi

Talk to MegaHAL - A program using a statistical language model to generate gibberish. Type in something and by cunning word association type stuff you'll get a response from Hal which may even be of interest. He's so inane you'll believe he's real.

Sites Which Are Pale Substitutes For Interesting Real Things

The National Media Museum - I used to go there a fair bit, when it was The National Museum of Photography, Film & Television..  Some great people and astonishing artefacts there.

The Tar Barrels - Traditional weirdness at Ottery Saint Mary.

Writer's Resources

The British Library Public Catalogue - To help you keep researching; a fine excuse for not writing.

i/am/writing - Robin Kelly's frankly superb site, full of hints for those writing for performance.

Sits Vac - Resource site for UK comedy writers.

On Line Business Type Things I Like

BookFinder.com - Second hand bookshops, networked.   Yeah!

PC Sound Nonsense

Cylonix Vocoder - You too can be Sparky's Magic Piano.

Digital Ear - Fun bit of sound software.

EWS64 Stress Control Panel - Support site for fun and infuriating Soundcard.

Real - The creators of the unsatisfying audio player of choice for commercial suppliers of internet sound.

Winamp - The creators of the unsatisfying audio player of choice for private consumers of internet sound.

Waves - Just go and give them half of all your money.

Sony Media Software - Just go and give them the other half of all your money.
